We are looking for a qualified Health & Safety Advisor to join our Calgary team on a fulltime basis to champion health and safety initiatives for Enerplus. Your will monitor operations to eliminate hazardous activities. You will also be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. Your work will be focused on prevention and supporting our journey to Owning ZERO.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tools, guidance, training and ongoing support to Enerplus’ employees, leaders and contractors on the effective management of health and safety matters
  • Promote a progressive safety culture
  • Ensure employee and contractor activities are preplanned for safety through rigorous consultation and review
  • Ensure safety management systems are understood and are being implemented
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measure
  • Provide field leadership for safety in the organization; work to control and eliminate hazards in the working environment and support field crews in all aspects of safety
  • Support leaders with onboarding new hires and contractors to Enerplus’ safety programs and requirements
  • Conduct and support Enerplus’ Incident Investigations process Follow up with appropriate reports and communicate with field and office leadership

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent certificates in health and safety. Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation preferred
  • In depth knowledge of health and safety management systems and safe work practices
  • A broad understanding of the HSE regulatory process and principles
  • Acts as a good role model for our values and cultural beliefs
  • Proven ability to communicate openly with team members
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Skype for Business)
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the US to multiple field locations
