We are looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join our Denver team on a fulltime basis to assist with internal and external reporting, collaborate with people across Enerplus, and support several projects within the team.


  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results for internal and external reporting needs
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries and reconciliations required to reflect monthly activity
  • Research and respond to financial accounting and reporting matters, specific to the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Ability to data mine financial information and analyze the data proficiently.
  • Assist with various projects undertaken by the Corporate Finance team. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with revenue, joint interest and accounts payable groups
  • Assist business analyst group with retrieving and analyzing financial data and accruals
  • Provide support for regulatory compliance and audits, including testing for our annual SOX compliance.
  • Coordinate external governmental financial data requests.
  • Foster teamwork and leverage knowledge of financial practices to improve processes, enhance communication and respond to the changing needs of our business partners


  • Accounting or related degree required
  • Oil and Gas experience preferred
  • Essbase or similar data mining experience preferred
  • Excalibur or other Oil and Gas accounting system experience a plus
  • Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated employee with excellent problem-solving skills that is capable of adapting to a growing and changing business environment
  • Strong computer literacy, specific to Microsoft Excel, you have the ability and knowledge to manipulate, organize and retrieve data using formulas and logic functions
  • Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task responsibilities
