Senior Marketing Representative

This role reports directly to the Manager, Marketing in Calgary, Alberta.

Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

Responsible for the physical marketing activities for our Western Canadian and Marcellus natural gas production. Specially, the successful candidate will:

  • Manage our physical gas sales portfolio with a focus on maximizing netback.
  • Oversee the day to day scheduling and pipeline balancing on Tennessee Gas Pipeline, Transco, NGTL, Alliance, and Enbridge/Spectra. This includes some weekend/holiday on-call responsibility.
  • Optimize our portfolio of pipeline transportation commitments.
  • Perform monthly marketing revenue reconciliation, accruals, gas sales invoicing and internal reporting, working closely with US and Canadian Accounting teams.
  • Maintain comparative pricing schedules and perform complete pricing analysis of existing and potential deals.
  • Initiate, negotiate, and conclude master gas sale agreements with credit worthy counterparties.
  • Support Operations, Business Development and Joint Interest teams on asset acquisition/disposition activities and regular upstream operational planning.
  • Monitor the performance of all midstream gathering agreements.
  • Participate in price risk management execution meetings.
  • Work closely with Manager, Marketing on long-term sales and/or gas transportation strategies.
  • Contribute to our fundamental supply/demand analysis of the basins in which we operate.
  • Represent Enerplus at regulatory meetings and other industry associations where applicable.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent
  • The successful candidate will have 7 or more years of scheduling and marketing experience on NGTL, Alliance and Enbridge/Spectra pipeline systems as well as at least one US gas pipeline system (Transco or Tennessee Gas Pipeline preferable).
  • Experience in physical crude oil and NGL marketing, knowledge of commodity price hedging and an understanding of the regulatory systems impacting our business is considered an asset.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment is paramount.
