Enerplus is a responsible developer of high quality crude oil and natural gas assets in Canada and the United States. We’re proud of what we do, how we got here and where we’re going. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced, professional Payroll and Benefits Analyst. This position is located in our Calgary office, is part of the People & Culture group and reports directly to the Team Lead, Total Rewards.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Share responsibility for payroll administration in both Canada and the US inclusive of year end reporting for T4s and W-2s.
  • Administer group benefits and savings plan contributions including annual benefits enrollment, 401K Audits, and COBRA.
  • Manage time entry for hourly and non-exempt employees.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and benefits.
  • Support Workers Compensation Board (WCB) Administration.
  • Respond to documentation requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support file room maintenance, including filing and document retention.
  • Consult with employees regarding payroll or benefit related inquiries.
  • Assist the Total Rewards team with other initiatives as required.

Requirements

YOU HAVE THE REQUIRED BACKGROUND, INCLUDING:

  • Must have full scope payroll and benefits administration (hire to termination).
  • Expertise with Canadian payroll (US experience is an asset).
  • PCP certification/related post-secondary education is required
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, benefits, and employment standards legislation.
  • Ability to work independently on confidential matters.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proven analytical problem-solving skills, with an inquiring mindset.
  • Highly proactive and collaborative team member with a strong customer focus.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles to understand the impact and interconnections with payroll.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now an asset.
