We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join the Corporate Finance team in Calgary on a full-time basis, reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting. In this position, you will assist with the financial reporting function, collaborate with people across Enerplus, and support several projects within the Corporate Finance team.

Requirements

Overall Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, MD&A and other regulatory filings
  • Assist with various regulatory filings such as the Annual Information Form and Information Circular
  • Work with our U.S. subsidiary office to ensure consistency of financial reporting processes and information
  • Perform testing for our annual SOX compliance
  • U.S. GAAP accounting research on complex accounting matters
  • Liaise with external auditors for quarterly and annual reporting
  • Assist with the treasury function, including back-filling for cash forecasting, borrowing and compliance activities
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Preparation of calculations and journal entries to support month-end and quarterly reporting


Qualifications:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, preferably with public accounting firm training
  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
  • Strong computer literacy, specific to Microsoft Excel, you have the ability and knowledge to manipulate, organize and retrieve data using formulas and logic functions
