Co-op Student - Operations Accounting, Accounts Payable

We are currently looking to fill a co-op position available in our Operations Accounting department. This position will be an eight-month term beginning in May 2018.

This position will allow you to gain valuable industry experience while completing meaningful and focused work. You will build upon your technical knowledge gained through course work and apply it to real world situations using industry specific software. You will have the opportunity to work with various individuals within Operations Accounting, as well as collaborating with other internal departments and external vendors and partners to proactively manage accounts.

Requirements

Responsibilities will vary but can include:

· Verify and process supplier invoices

· Analysis of expenses, capital and revenue within applicable departments

· Voucher creation and recording in Financial System (Qbyte)

· Vendor and partner management

· Investigate and respond to internal and external queries and disputes

· Coordinate cheque runs

· Research and review relevant data to verify ensure accuracy

· Prepare and coordinate workflows for required approvals

· Project work as required

Qualifications:

· 3rd or 4th year students enrolled in an accounting or finance discipline and part of the co-op program

· Work-related experience in the oil and gas industry an asset

· Must possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills

· Able to take initiative and bring an enthusiastic attitude to the team

· Dynamic team player who also works well independently

· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment

· Excellent computer skills in an MS Office environment
