Senior Specialist, Communications and Corporate Investment

Senior Specialist, Communications and Corporate Investment (12 month contract)

We currently have a contract position available based in our Calgary office, reporting to the Manager, People & Culture. The role will support both internal and external communications, as well as coordinating Enerplus’ corporate investment program. This position will provide coverage for a maternity leave, with a term anticipated to last 12 months, starting in September 2017.

Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans to drive employee engagement and collaboration.
  • Provide communication counsel and change management support to internal departments.
  • Write and edit internal and external communications documents (including digital content) adhering to superior quality standards.
  • In collaboration with Investor Relations, bridge external messages to the employee audience.
  • Provide support for executive presentations, speeches, briefings and messaging.
  • Support financial communication and social responsibility communication strategies.
  • Ensure the proper use of corporate brand standards.
  • Coordinate the corporate community investment program - overseeing the strategic planning, budgeting and implementation of the program, and facilitating internal committees.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • An undergraduate degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible corporate communications/public relations experience within an oil & gas environment.
  • Exceptional writing skills and experience writing in a variety of formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with initiative and creativity when managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with staff at all levels.
