We currently have a fulltime opportunity for a Field, Health & Safety Advisor and reports directly to the Team Lead, Health & Safety. This field-based position is located in our Watford City, ND Field Office. There is some flexibility with location depending on the candidate, however frequent Field Travel will be an expectation of the role.


Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

This position will act as a point contact for Enerplus’ Health & Safety activities. The primary function of this job is to manage Health & Safety Management systems throughout Enerplus and is accountable to support the development, implementation and communication of corporate policies, values, and Health and Safety programs for Enerplus’ on-going operations, green-field developments and projects.

Health & Safety (Primary)

  • Responsible for development, validation, communication and training of standards, procedures and guidelines
  • Creating effective two-way communication between Drilling, Well Services, Operations Business Partners
  • Support Operations, Drilling and Well Services field level safety meetings
  • Responsible for conducting new employee and contractor Health and Safety orientations
  • Responsible for collecting/reviewing area performance scorecard measures
  • Responsible for reviewing/evaluating new and changing OSHA regulations/legislation and their impact to Enerplus
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure that proper regulatory reporting is completed.
  • Support Operations, Drilling and Well Services with field inspections
  • Have an active field presence supporting all field operations

Emergency Response (Secondary)

  • Support the maintain corporate and site-specific ERPs
  • 24/7 support to emergencies within Enerplus
  • Ensuring quality ERP support, education and training
  • Perform ER drills with crews

Requirements

  • Degree in business, sciences or engineering preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of direct well services and or drilling experience
  • Minimum 5 years direct experience in health & safety
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
  • Incident Command System (ICS) process practical experience at a field level
  • Non-authoritative leadership and influencing skills
  • Extensive knowledge of industry best in class practices and related government regulations and expectations
  • Risk control and management experience
  • Understanding of Loss Control, incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to travel to Canada and multiple field locations
