Enerplus has a growing land position in the Deep Basin/liquids rich gas regions of British Columbia and Alberta. Our properties are targeting reservoirs that have high levels of natural gas liquids associated with the natural gas.
Our growth opportunities in the Deep Basin are focused on the Montney, Stacked Mannville and Duvernay plays where we have approximately 160,000 net acres of high working interest land throughout the region. We own approximately 33,000 net acres of undeveloped land (100% working interest) with Montney potential in the Cameron region of British Columbia as well as approximately 67,000 net acres of Stacked Mannville land in the Pine Creek to Ansell regions of Alberta. We also recently added approximately 38,000 net acres of undeveloped land in the liquids rich Duvernay shale play in Alberta.
We have long lease tenures across much of this position, allowing us to control the pace at which we develop this resource with a view to gas price recovery at some point in the future. In 2012, we plan to spend $80 million on development drilling in the Stacked Mannville and to delineate our Montney and Duvernay acreage positions.
